Wednesday November 30, marks the UAE’s second Commemoration Day, which is all about remembering those that sacrificed their lives both at home and abroad in military and humanitarian fields. The first UAE serviceman died for his country on November 30, 1971 – hence the date of the holiday.
The Al Hathboor Group observed a minute of silent prayer from 11.30 am to 11.31am in honour of the country’s heroes.
The UAE’s flag was lowered at 8 a.m. at all government and government-subsidiary premises and remained lowered until the minute of silence had been observed.
